From Ideas to Articles
Content Studio is where keyword research turns into publishable content.
It connects directly to the ideas you discover on AnswerThePublic, helping you move smoothly from search insights to structured articles.
Instead of starting from a blank page, you can generate content based on real search behavior, your brand voice, and the topics most relevant to your audience.
How Content Studio fits into your workflow
Most users begin with Suggested For You or keyword research. Once a topic looks relevant, clicking Generate Content opens up that topic inside Content Studio.
From there, the platform analyzes top-performing pages, understands the intent behind the topic, and creates a structured article draft aligned with your business and audience.
In practice, the workflow usually looks like this:
- Find a content opportunity
- Create or configure your project
- Add keywords to your schedule
- Generate articles
- Review and refine the content
- Publish or export when ready
Everything stays connected, so your research, article generation, and publishing workflow remain in the same environment.
Creating your first project
Before generating content, you’ll create a project inside Content Studio.
A project is where your brand settings, content schedule, generated articles, and publishing preferences are stored. Each project is designed around a specific business or website.
To get started, add your website URL so the platform can analyze your business and generate initial recommendations.
Note: Content Studio works best with a standalone website or landing page URL. Social media profile links, such as Instagram or Facebook, aren't currently supported for analysis. If you don't have a dedicated website yet, using any landing page you control instead of a social profile link will give you more reliable results.
Brand voice and image style
The first step is defining how your content should look and sound.
The Brand Voice section allows you to choose from predefined communication styles or create your own by adding custom instructions and writing examples. This helps the system generate content that better matches your tone, audience, and positioning.
You can also define your Image Style preferences. You may choose from styles like Illustration, Photorealistic, 3D, Isometric, or Hand Drawn, or simply allow AI to decide automatically based on the article.
These settings can be adjusted later at any time.
Business Summary
After analyzing your website, Content Studio creates a Business Summary to better understand your company and the type of content you want to create.
This summary helps guide article generation by providing context about your audience, industry, positioning, and focus topics.
The generated information includes:
- Business name
- Business type
- Business summary
- Key features
- Competitive advantages
- Target customers
- Geographic focus
- Focus topics
- Sitemaps
- Content language and target country
Everything can be reviewed and edited manually before content is generated.
Suggested For You: where content opportunities start
Once your project is created, you’ll have access to the Suggested For You area.
This section serves as a personalized content roadmap tailored to your website and business. Instead of showing generic keyword suggestions, it highlights opportunities that are more relevant to your brand and visibility goals.
You’ll typically see:
- Topics with strong AI visibility potential
- High-volume short-tail keywords
- Lower-competition long-tail opportunities
- Personalized keyword suggestions related to your business
The section also includes a customized Keyword Wheel built specifically around your most relevant opportunities.
If you switch to Table View, you’ll see additional information for each keyword, including:
- Opportunity level
- Search volume
- Search intent
If a keyword displays NICHE instead of a search volume number, it means the topic has lower overall search demand but is highly specific. These keywords can be valuable, especially when targeting narrower audiences or specialized topics.
In practice, this is usually where users decide which topics are worth turning into content.
Keyword Coverage: know what you already cover
Before you start writing, it helps to know whether a topic is already covered on your site — or genuinely worth writing about. That's what Keyword Coverage shows you.
Open any project and click Keyword Coverage in the sidebar. Paste in your keywords, or upload a CSV, and each one comes back classified as:
- Fully Covered — your site already has strong content on this topic
- Partially covered — you have something related, but there's room to go deeper
- Gap — this topic isn't covered yet, and is worth considering for your next piece
Where the data comes from
Each keyword also carries an Origin badge, so you always know why it's classified the way it is:
- Sitemap — you're already ranking for this keyword on Google
- Manual — you typed it in yourself or marked it as covered
- Planned — it was added through your Content Plan
- CSV — it came from an uploaded file
- Suggested by AI — see below
About the coverage percentage
Alongside the status, you'll see a percentage. This is a topical-match score — how closely your most relevant page matches that keyword's topic — rather than a measure of how much of the topic you've written about. Topics score Covered at 75%+, Partially covered at 50–74%, and Not covered below 50%. That means a keyword can show a percentage like 45% and still be labeled "Not covered" — it simply means your closest page touches on the topic, but not closely enough to count as real coverage.
What "Suggested by AI" means
If your domain doesn't have much Google ranking data yet — common for new or lower-traffic sites — the tool reads your published pages and suggests topics based on what they appear to be about. These aren't tracked keywords or confirmed search demand, just a starting point based on your existing content. Treat them as ideas to validate with normal keyword research, rather than guaranteed opportunities.
Keeping your coverage up to date
If your project was created before Keyword Coverage launched, click Re-index sitemap once on the Coverage page to populate your results — new projects index automatically going forward.
From each row, you can also Generate Content directly, Recompute the score, mark a keyword Covered/Uncovered, or Remove it (which also cancels any article already queued for that keyword).
You'll see the same coverage signal show up elsewhere in AnswerThePublic too — as a badge on Suggested For You and on AI-suggested keywords in your Content Plan — so you don't have to leave those views to check whether a topic is already covered.
Generating and reviewing articles
Once an article is scheduled, you can generate the content by clicking directly from the calendar.
Content Studio doesn’t simply generate text from a prompt. Before writing, the system analyzes top-ranking pages, identifies search intent patterns, researches relevant information, and structures the article around SEO and readability best practices.
Your project settings, brand voice, business summary, and localization preferences all shape the final result.
The generated article also includes images based on the image style you selected during setup.
Working inside the article editor
After generation, you can review, edit, and manage the article directly inside Content Studio.
At the top of the article, you’ll find actions such as:
- Save
- Replace images
- Download as PDF
- Download as Markdown (.md)
- Publish
- Hide Panel
Alongside the article, you’ll also see three supporting panels: Overview, SERP, and Research.
Overview
The Overview tab gives you a quick summary of the article, including:
- Target keyword
- Monthly searches
- SEO difficulty
- Plagiarism score
- Word count
- External links
Promotional content
Once an article finishes generating, you can turn it into a full set of supporting marketing assets without leaving Content Studio. From the Overview tab in the article sidebar, click Generate promo content.
Selecting your content types
The Promotional content panel lets you multi-select the assets you want to generate:
- Social media — X post, Facebook post, Instagram caption, LinkedIn post
- Email and press — Email newsletter, press release, media pitch
- SEO — SEO meta tags, FAQ
-
Summaries — Short summary, long summary
Previewing your content
After generating, switch to Preview content to see each result inside a platform-authentic mockup, such as an Instagram post or Gmail-style email. Every card includes Copy and Regenerate, and single-field outputs like summaries also include inline Edit.
Credits for promotional content
Generating promotional content uses 1 credit per Generate click, no matter how many content types you select. Each Regenerate also uses 1 credit, and the cost is shown directly next to the button before you click it.
SERP
The SERP tab helps you understand the search landscape around your topic.
It shows Google results related to the keyword along with a summary of patterns, opportunities, and pain points identified from top-ranking pages.
This helps explain why the article was structured the way it was.
Research
The Research tab shows the sources and supporting research used during article generation.
You’ll be able to review:
- Supporting recommendations
- Research notes
- Source URLs
This makes it easier to validate information and refine the content before publishing.
Publishing and integrations
Content Studio supports publishing integrations with WordPress and Webflow, depending on your subscription plan.
Once connected, you can:
- Publish content directly
- Save articles as drafts
- Enable auto-publishing after the article is generated
If you prefer working outside the platform, you can export articles as PDF or Markdown files.
Connecting social accounts
Under Settings > Social Integrations, you can connect your X and LinkedIn accounts to share promotional content directly from Content Studio.
Once connected, you can post generated X posts or LinkedIn posts straight from the article sidebar.
Understanding projects and settings
Projects help you organize your content system around a specific brand or website.
Each project contains:
- Suggested For You
- Content Schedule
- All generated content
- Project settings
This allows you to manage research, article generation, publishing, and brand configuration in one place.
You can continue using AnswerThePublic for keyword research while articles remain scheduled or in progress inside Content Studio.
Settings: customizing your content system
The Settings area gives you control over how content is generated, published, and localized.
Publishing controls
Here you can connect to WordPress or Webflow and decide whether articles should be published automatically, saved as drafts, or manually reviewed before publishing.
Brand voice and image style
These settings control how your content sounds and looks.
You can refine your tone of voice, add custom writing guidelines, define communication preferences, and adjust image generation styles whenever needed.
Article generation preferences
This section allows you to configure:
- Publishing frequency
- Word count range
- Heading structure
- External link preferences
- Internal linking through sitemaps
These settings help keep generated content aligned with your overall SEO strategy.
Business information and localization
You can edit your business summary, focus topics, audience details, target countries, and content language at any time.
Content Studio currently supports content generation for more than 90 countries and over 40 languages.
The platform interface is available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.
How credits work
Some actions inside Content Studio use credits. These credits are used specifically for content generation and deeper keyword research. Other features, including editing, scheduling, plagiarism checks, and project management, do not consume credits.
Credits reset based on your billing date, and unused credits do not roll over. You can check your renewal date and credit usage directly in the Manage Account area.
Generating one article uses 10 credits.
Running a Deep Search uses 8 credits. To start, click on “Get AI Suggestions”.
Deep Search analyzes your website and business context to suggest keyword opportunities related to your audience and goals. You can then select the keywords manually or use Auto-Select to let AI choose them for you.
Your available credits depend on your subscription plan and determine how much content you can generate during that period.
You can always view your remaining credits directly from the side menu.
Buying additional credits
If you need more credits before your next renewal, you can top up directly from the side menu by selecting Buy credits.
Credit packs are available in four sizes:
| Pack | Credits | Price |
| Starter | 30 | US$8 |
| Standard | 100 | US$23 |
| Pro | 250 | US$55 |
| Power | 600 | US$130 |
Purchased credits are added to your account immediately. Unlike your monthly plan credits, purchased credit packs don't expire and aren't tied to your billing cycle — once purchased, they remain available until you use them.
Content Studio limits by plan
Your available projects, credits, and publishing features depend on your subscription.

Plan access
Content Studio is included with monthly and yearly AnswerThePublic subscriptions.
Lifetime plans don't include Content Studio as part of their regular subscription. For a limited promotional period (June - July 2026), these plans received a temporary credit allowance so you could try generating content on one project at no extra cost. Basic Lifetime plans are not included in this promotion.
Once your promotional credits are used, or once the promotional period ends, you can keep using Content Studio by purchasing credit packs through Buy credits (see "Buying additional credits" above). Lifetime plans have access to 1 project in Content Studio, regardless of subscription tier.
How to get better results
The quality of your output depends heavily on the quality of your inputs.
Starting with strong topics from Suggested For You usually leads to better content opportunities. Defining your brand's voice early also helps keep articles more consistent and aligned with your business.
Instead of generating isolated articles, it’s generally more effective to build clusters of related content around broader themes. Using keyword research and People Also Ask questions together can help create a more complete content structure over time.
Even though Content Studio handles much of the heavy lifting, reviewing and refining generated articles before publishing remains an important step.
