AnswerThePublic allows users to perform location-based searches by entering a keyword along with a specific area and language, helping them discover what people in that region are asking about. This feature provides valuable insights into local interests related to the keyword. However, users should note that filtering is limited to the country level, and not all countries or languages are supported—only those listed in the drop-down menu are included in the database.
Even when a user searches for specific languages it is expected to have results in different languages that were not selected in the filter for different reasons.
- Some modifiers are common words for different languages, for example, the word "que" in French ("What" in English) is the same as ¨que¨ in Spanish which means what in English too.
This similarity can affect the results for someone searching for a keyword in French providing results in Spanish as well as shown in the images below.
- If a user searches in Italian but Google doesn't find relevant results in that language, it might show English terms instead. Ultimately, the results presented will depend on what Google determines is most relevant for the user's browser and language settings, making Google’s decision the guiding factor in the displayed results.
For example, someone located in the USA doing searches in Spanish will receive suggestions on Google in English, too.
Is It Possible to Delete Results in Languages Other Than the Selected One?
Users can remove results from the wheel, lists, and tables as needed.
From the wheel the users can edit the modifiers by excluding one if necessary, continuing with the French and Spanish example, the modifier "que" can be removed and results in Spanish will not be shown.
Another option is removing specific suggestions instead of the entire modifiers; to do this, users need to go to the Lists or Tables reports since the wheel doesn't have that option.
From the list users will find an "Action" column and a minus icon, by clicking it the term will be removed from the report.
The same icon will be in the Table reports but in this case, users need to hover over the term they want to remove to trigger it.
