Why I Don’t See Results for Long Tail Keywords?
The AnswerThePublic tool is a unique method of analyzing queries by exposing the questions, prepositions, and comparisons made by people on your keyword in search engines. However, for certain keyword lengths, it might not show so many results.
This article explains how best you can exploit the AnswerThePublic tool when searching for keywords through the following sections:

How to Optimize the Tool Performance with My Inputs?
Whenever possible, we would suggest that users always use 1-2 words when using ATP since we attach our questions and prepositions to users' terms automatically just to bring out all the different ways various people ask about something online regarding what you are doing.
Don’t use very specific or technical terminologies as the tool helps to identify what people search for and what they want to know about particular subjects. On top of that, more specific questions related to the user's topic can also be generated by selecting “prepositions.”
Consider the names that customers will give your business (including all variations) For example if a user has a car brand consider searching everything from their brand name and competitors but also car, my car, new car, used cars, car reviews as well as driving; motors, etc.
It could also be that the term the user is searching for has very few results in search engines. He can check what sorts of related searches you can expect by visiting www.google.com and typing in your term (try using an incognito window to avoid personalized results).
How Does AnswerThePublic Algorithms Refind for Long Tails Keywords?
Concerning this, it should be noted that sometimes using some long-term keywords while searching may result in fewer outcomes than you might have expected.
There are also certain keywords that Google’s algorithm does not suggest for terms with low search volume leading to a lack of suggestions in your query.
Before, though, such searches could bring a list of sites that were not relevant to our information’s modifiers (like HOW, WHAT, WHY, etc..). It was then modified by ATP so that our results will only include the most important keywords, making words hence making it more accurate and useful.
This is why AnswerThePublic removes the suggestion if it doesn’t contain the modifier hence failing to generate any results for certain searches.
We are looking at ways of improving usability like list visualization as the default for smaller result sets and new types of related results.
How to Enhance Your Research?
Begin by entering broad topics or keywords related to the research. This can help users find new ideas or reveal unknown aspects of the subject matter through ATP’s visualizations for common questions, prepositions, and related searches.
Afterward, users should analyze the data produced to identify any trends, patterns, or recurring themes related to their research topic. Discover popular questions and topics people are searching for on the internet that will guide content creation or strategy. Finally, use these insights to identify gaps in existing content and develop unique angles or perspectives to address these gaps.
Consider research with ATP as an iterative process. For this reason, users should periodically revisit their queries, explore new themes, and scan for emerging patterns to stay updated on trends within the niche.
By following these strategies, users can realize the full potential of Answer The Public in their research endeavors leading to more meaningful results for businesses or projects.
Once the toggle is ON for the desired keyword, select the report and go to the compare section:
Select the report date you want to compare directly from the list or the drop-down list.
As the image below shows:
The first date available to select in the time range will be the very first time you perform the search for that term.
In this example, there were 114 new suggestions for marketing between January 23rd and February 16th of 2024. You'll see the new results highlighted in green, allowing you to scan for new ideas quickly.
You can also export the data in a CSV file by clicking on the download CSV link at the top of the report:
